The diverging diamond interchange or D.D.I. is an unusual traffic system where vehicles that are perpendicular to the flyover or tunnel turn left or go straight by temporarily driving on the wrong side of the road! It eliminates the 2 cycles for turning. With the D.D.I. for intersections with existing infrastructures, there would be only 2 cycles. Each of these cycles will have straight and turning movements at the same time.

1st cycle
2nd cycle
